ITHACA, NY - Visions Federal Credit Union is excited to announce that they will be opening a branch at 410 Elmira Road this winter.

Visions brings a new banking option to the Ithaca community that includes lower interest rates on loans, competitive earnings on savings, a shared network of fee-free ATMs, and more. As a member-owned not-for-profit, Visions is committed to both member and community service.

"We're friends, neighbors, and community builders. We employ local people and partner with local businesses, which allows us to return the benefits to our members," Visions' President and CEO, Ty Muse, said. "Members not only support the credit union model, they also indirectly benefit the community."

Visions has demonstrated a positive impact in its communities not only with donations, but financial literacy services as well. Last year, Visions donated $1 million to community organizations and provided over 21,000 people of all ages with free financial education.

While Visons supports its members and neighbors with financial gifts, their team also gets involved with many community events.

"Volunteerism is a huge part of our employee culture. Our Community Impact Program, for example, encourages employees to volunteer in their community," Visions' Community Development Manager, Tim Strong said. "They get involved in churches, schools, animal shelters, and other causes they are passionate about."

Hundreds in the Ithaca community are already Visions members and the organization looks forward to expanding its local support as that number grows with its new presence. The credit union is currently working with the Downtown Ithaca Alliance, Tompkins Center for History & Culture, YMCA of Ithaca, the Community Foundation of Tompkins County, and has plans to form more local partnerships in the months ahead.
