Smart Savings and Budgeting Using Digital Banking

Pay yourself first, create an emergency savings account, and allocate funds towards your upcoming bills by creating reoccurring transfers to each share.

Create a savings share for each of the following:

  • Emergency Savings
  • Electric/Gas
  • Water/Sewer
  • Garbage
  • Car payments
  • Mortgage/Rent
  • Insurances
    ...Etc.

It’s super simple, can be adjusted at any time, and helps to keep your budget on track! Plus, employees are paid 26 times during the year, so once the year ends, each share you create will have a nice cushion. This extra cash can be used for bill increases, unexpected repairs, or even a down payment on a new vehicle! Click the button to watch a video on how to set up automatic funds transfers in digital banking, or follow the steps below.

Steps to set up automatic reoccurring online funds transfers:

  1. Log into digital banking through visionsfcu.org or the Visions FCU Mobile app
  2. In the main menu, select Transfers/Payments, and then Funds Transfer
  3. Under "From Account", select the share that your payroll is deposited into
  4. Under "To Account", select the share that you want the reoccurring transfer to go to
  5. Under "Amount", fill in the dollar amount for the reoccurring transfer
  6. Under "Frequency", select the frequency with which you would like the transfer to occur
    1. If you would like it to happen weekly or bi-weekly, you will then need to select the day of the week

  8. Under "Repeat Duration", select how long you would like these transfer to occur
  9. You can then include an optional note for your transfer (ex: water and garbage bills)
