Binghamton, NY – Visions Federal Credit Union is thrilled to announce the opening of a new branch at Seton Catholic Central’s Vitkus Center for Excellence in Binghamton, NY. The branch, or Financial Wellness Center, will be a resource exclusively for the students, faculty, and staff of the Catholic Schools of Broome County (CSBC).

The Financial Wellness Center is Visions’ first in-school location outside of a public-school system. Across Visions’ footprint in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, the Seton location will be the credit union’s 13th in-school branch, and each school or district partnership has a unique approach to supporting the high school or district’s financial well-being.

The branch opening coincides with the inaugural year of Seton Catholic Central’s Vitkus Center for Excellence, the newly renovated building adjacent to the high school that will house the Financial Wellness Center in addition to a Business Academy, supported by Visions’ partnership, and dance studio.

In a newsletter to the school community, CSBC President Tracy Caezza shared her excitement for the prospects provided by their new partnership and the Business Academy. She said, “Visions will not only provide invaluable real-world experiences in finance and business but also offer paid internships for our students who are interested in careers in finance. This opportunity will allow our students to gain hands-on experience while preparing for their futures.”

Visions hires high school students to staff each Financial Wellness Center, where the students benefit from work-based learning and professional development. With support from the student interns and a dedicated Financial Wellness Officer, the branch can provide account services, including new memberships and cash transactions, and financial wellness resources, such as one-on-one financial counseling, classroom seminars, and college planning.

High school students who are interested in applying can visit visionsfcu.org/internships.
