Title: Cofounder/Creative Director
Organization: 1988
"I am co-founder and creative director of 1988, a brand, where every thread, every stitch, and every design represents more than just fashion—it symbolizes a powerful movement. 1988 is a tribute to a turning point in history: the Women's Business Ownership Act of 1988. This landmark act wasn’t just a policy change; it was a groundbreaking leap that opened doors for women to own their futures, control their finances, and pursue their dreams without barriers.
I believe that progress is worth celebrating—and there’s still much work to be done. We’re here to spark conversations about equality and continue advocating for the kind of future that act set in motion. Our premium T-shirts and sweatshirts are symbols of resilience, ambition, and community. Each piece is designed in the U.S. with careful attention to detail, ensuring that our collections are both fashionable and purposeful. Our printer is a local woman owned business and we ship in sustainable packaging made in the U.S. by a woman owned business.
We want the brand to be about wearing a reminder of how far we’ve come—and an emblem of how much further we can go. Our brand is about bridging the past with the future, honoring the women who paved the way, and standing alongside those still pushing for change. This isn’t just a clothing line; it’s a statement.
We are not looking to just build a brand, 1988 is a hub for connection, education, and action. We proudly partner with organizations that champion women in business, and we’re dedicated to providing resources that help build stronger, more equitable futures. A portion of every sale goes directly to initiatives supporting women’s empowerment.
The message is simple but profound: She owns her story. By sharing our story we want women to have the confidence to share theirs, so that we’re not just making strides; we’re making history."
