Endwell, NY – Visions Federal Credit Union recently held its fifth annual 4 on the 4th Road Race at their headquarters in Endwell, NY.

The annual July 4th event welcomes in-person and virtual participants, several community partners, and the support of more than 50 volunteers. The 4-mile course takes in-person participants through the surrounding neighborhood and into nearby Highland Park before returning to the headquarters parking lot, where each runner can receive a medal and celebrate the day. Nearly 500 runners registered to participate, making it their largest race to date.

"As much as it's an event for runners, the race is also a fun family celebration," said Kristina Albrecht, Visions Corporate Events Planner. "After all, it's Independence Day!"

On Visions' property, festivities included a DJ, ice cream truck, activities for children, and free refreshments. Local restaurant Social on State provided beer and mimosas for participants and volunteers 21 and over.

The race culminated with an awards ceremony for the fastest and best dressed runners, followed by a check presentation to charity partners. While registering, entrants could add a donation and Visions contributed an additional $2,500 to three first responder organizations that serve the Endwell community, including Endicott Auxiliary Police, Union Volunteer Emergency Squad, and Endwell Fire Department O.L. Davis Company. Each charity partner received a total donation of $3,336.

"First responders continually play a big role in ensuring the safety of the event," said Albrecht. "We wanted to thank them for those efforts and offer support for the important work they do in this community."
