Endwell, NY –Visions Federal Credit Union donated over $3,500 to the Southern Tier Veterans Support Group as part of its annual 4 on the 4th Road Race, held on July 4.

"The race marks our organization's first public event since the outbreak of Covid-19," said Visions' Public Relations and Community Engagement Manager Tim Strong, who helped start the event in 2017. "Now that people are feeling safer and more confident, we look forward to being out in the community even more."

To offer a Covid-friendly event this year, Visions expanded the race to virtual participants in addition to the in-person runners. As a result, over 350 runners registered for the race, including 71 virtual runners spanning four states. Volunteers and in-person runners, many wearing red, white, and blue, gathered outdoors for the event at Visions' headquarters on Country Club Road in Endwell. Runners proceeded through the surrounding neighborhood and Highland Park, finishing back at Visions' headquarters where they celebrated and enjoyed refreshments.

"I feel proud of our community to see so many volunteers and runners showing their support for local veterans," said Strong. "The Southern Tier Veterans Support Group raises awareness and provides essential resources to our local veterans, service members, and their families."
