Lake George, NY – During the New York Credit Union Association's (NYCUA) Annual Meeting & Convention, the Association recognized Ed Butler, Visions Federal Credit Union's Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer (EVP/COO), with the Outstanding Professional Award.

NYCUA offers this recognition annually to honor credit union professionals who have a true passion for the industry and who inspire others with their hard work, dedication, and success.

Butler has been employed with Visions since 1980 and has worked his way up from a teller to EVP during his 42-year employment. His work has been focused predominantly on lending, and he serves to be a wealth of knowledge in that space.

As EVP/COO, Butler has provided oversight to the following departments: human resources, information technology, business performance, internal operations, governmental affairs, and member-facing interactions. He has been instrumental in annual strategic planning exercises for the organization and has been attending the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Governmental Affairs Conference for over 10 years, where he supports the credit union movement through political advocacy in Washington, DC.

"I've seen firsthand how credit unions can be a great force for positive change," said Butler. "It's been a pleasure to work with an organization like Visions, that's doing so much good in our community."
