ENDWELL, N.Y. – Financial Wellness Bootcamp, a contest from Visions Federal Credit Union, has concluded and Robert Moore of Binghamton was one of the participants.

The contest, launched in June 2021, provided a unique chance for Visions members to get their personal finances on track, whether they were trying to buy a house, pay off debt, or just improve their credit score.

Last year, contestants started a nine-month, guided curriculum to help reach their financial goals. Contestants met monthly with a designated branch coach and Financial Wellness Officer, engaged with financial wellness resources, and even had a one-on-one meeting with President and CEO Ty Muse.

During Financial Wellness Bootcamp, contestants paid off thousands of dollars in debt and increased savings several-fold. The participant with the highest score earned a $10,000 prize.

"Visions is always looking for unique ways to give back, so we presented this opportunity to our members to show the community what is possible when they work with us," Visions President and CEO Tyrone Muse said. "We hope that the contestants will serve as an inspiration to others looking to improve their personal finances, no matter what that goal may be."

Visions invited members from all the communities they serve across three states to apply for the program. Moore joins Courtney Zaryski of Syracuse, New York; Lauren Singleton of Teaneck, New Jersey; and Beatriz Monterroso of Glen Gardner, New Jersey, as winners.   • Visions Hosts 60th Annual Meeting

    Three directors were elected to Visions Federal Credit Union’s Board of Directors at its 60th Annual Meeting, held at Visions Headquarters in Endwell, NY. Joseph Lau was elected to a three-year term and Jill M. Bennedum and James J. Lewis were re-elected to three-year terms on the Board. At a special reorganization meeting held immediately following the Annual Meeting, the Board re-elected Christopher H. Marion as Chairperson, Mary C. Robinson as Vice Chairperson, Denise B. Stoughton as Treasurer, and Kelly A. Roche as Secretary of the Executive Committee. The Board appointed Charles R. Sebuharara as Associate Director.
