Domestic and International Travel with Visions and Visa®
Fraud monitoring helps to protect you, both in the states and abroad. We encourage you to review the following security reminders before traveling with your Visions debit card or credit card.
With our advanced fraud detection systems, "travel flags" are a thing of the past. We have a fraud prevention program to protect your credit and debit card, whether it be at home or during international travel.
Because of this fraud protection, there may be some instances where your transaction could be declined if the activity is considered extremely suspicious. When we need to verify transactions, our Fraud Monitoring service may contact you using the current information on your account. Here are a few best practices for travel, followed by security reminders for recognizing if it's a legitimate text message from Visions.
Security Tips and Best Practices
Before traveling:
- Ensure we have your current contact information, especially phone, email, and mailing address
- Save our Fraud Monitoring short code (23618) in your phone contacts
- Pack two types of cards in case one does not work or is not accepted
- Buy foreign currency or travelers checks before you leave
- Set up Alerts in digital banking. Not enrolled yet? Click here.
- Review your credit card's guide to benefits if you'd want to learn more about your travel protections and policies:
- Visa® Platinum
- Elite Visa Signature®
- Visa Business Cash Rewards
While traveling:
- Instead of swiping your card at a point of sale, you should insert your chip or use or tap-to-pay whenever possible
- Have a backup plan and carry multiple forms of payment. Foreign banking systems can be very different from ours
- Monitor your accounts in digital banking for any unusual activity, and always review your eStatements
- Lost or stolen card? Use Card Controls in digital banking to block your card, or call our lost/stolen support line: 833.224.5785
Remember, we will never call you and ask you for your PIN, digital banking password, or Secure Access Code.
